Our facility
is conveniently located in the heart of Brooklyn NY, surrounded
by public subway stations and bus stops. Our site is managed
by a board certified psychiatrist who, along with his staff of 3 full-time experienced research coordinators,
speaks English, Russian, Ukrainian and Polish. This site opened
in 2003 and is already conducting several research trials.
Our friendly, multilingual staff, and warm atmosphere are
a huge draw to this ethnically diverse area.
The Brooklyn Medical
Institute (BMI) is experienced in running clinical trials
across a broad range of CNS indications to Include:
All sleep disorders and numerous psychiatric indications from
adolescent to geriatric including Depression, Bi-Polar, OCD,
Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Addiction and Panic Disorders.
Meet the Staff
Zinoviy T. Benzar, M.D., Ph.D
Board Certified, Psychiatry & Neurology
Dr. Benzar has been involved in Clinical
Research since 1989. He received his Medical Degree from Ternopol
State Medical Institute, Ternopol City, Ukraine and completed
his Residency Program in Psychiatry at Saint Luke’s
Roosevelt Hospital Center, Teaching Hospital of Columbia University,
New York, NY. Dr. Benzar has an active adult Psychiatry practice
in Brooklyn and has attending privileges at St.Luke’s-Roosevelt
Hospital Center; Lutheran Hospital Center; Gracie Square Hospital.
Dr. Benzar holds membership in the AMA and ACRP and is fluent
in multiple languages to include: English, Russian, Ukrainian,
Polish and Serbian. As a result he has many patients of Eastern
European heritage. Dr. Benzar’s research experiences
include the following: schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, anxiety,
dementia, and depression. He has been a Principal Investigator
for numerous studies and is knowledgeable of GCP guidelines.
